Third session 03.02.2013

On Sunday morning all group mates came together with a list of ideas. We have lots of different ideas from the changing process of service in some organization to redesign a product. Guys divided ideas into three categories:
1. Changing a process of service
2. Redesign of product
3. Creative ideas
We started talking about ideas at 2:00 o'clock in afternoon until 6:00.
expect of one idea, rest of them was not good and we decided to think about some other ideas.
Unfortunately some of my friends ideas was exist and for the next session they should check the availability of ideas first and then writing them into the list. We have an other session on Monday again.

Hello Lamp Post! project to reveal hidden life of Bristol’s street furniture

Interactive consultancy Pan Studio is to install the Hello Lamp Post! project in Bristol, which will see people ‘communicate’ with street furniture such as lamp-posts and bus-stops by texting a unique code found on the objects.

The project adapts existing codes which are used by the city council to tell one object from another when a light-bulb needs replacing or a bus-stop repairing. Now members of the public will be able to use these codes to ‘play’ with the objects.
If you text the object’s code to a special phone number, it will ‘reply’ with a question. The organisers say, ‘Will it be pleased to see you? Irritated at having been left in the rain? Or will it tell you a secret? The more you play, the more the hidden life of the city will be revealed.’
Every post box in Bristol has been given a six-figure code, every bollard has two, some benches have seven and the storm drains have 14.

Hello codes!

The Hello Lamp Post! project is being installed after winning the £30 000 Playable City competition, launched last year by Bristol art venue Watershed. It was chosen from 93 applications to the competition.
The competition called for ‘an original, future-facing work, which uses creative technology to explore the theme of the playable city.’
Pan Studio co-founder Ben Barker says, ‘Our interest in the playable city was rooted in its contrast to the smart city, the almost invisible structures that underpin modern services.
‘We are asking people to wake up to street furniture and play with them in order to communicate with fellow citizens.’
Hello Lamp Post! will be installed in Bristol from July to August, before touring internationally.

second Group meeting (26/01/2013)

In second group meeting we trying to find a product or service to redesign but we could not to make a decision about it so we decided to read some articles and watch some clips about creativity and innovation area. So as group decision we made page on Facebook and then we sharing some ideas together as well. I offered to the guys to to read a unit handbook carefully and then we meet each other later.
